We are pleased to report the successful participation of Foundations for Youth Development (FYD) at the recently concluded We-Summit, an impactful women’s entrepreneurship conference that took place during the renowned Fashion Experience Festival.
FYD had the honor of supporting and sponsoring eight women entrepreneurs with N200,000 each, provided by our esteemed founder, Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, to fuel the growth of their small and medium enterprises. This initiative is a testament to FYD’s commitment to empowering women in business, enabling them to strengthen their economic influence and drive sustainable change in their communities.
The We-Summit attracted an impressive lineup of experts and speakers, including Hilda Dokubo, Prof. Iyeneemi Ibimina Kakulu, Teinye Boyle, and others who have achieved remarkable success in their fields. These speakers provided invaluable insights, covering key topics such as Practical Business Management Tools, Navigating the Digital Economy of Rivers State, and Authenticity in Brand Building. Their collective expertise resonated with attendees, equipping them with actionable strategies to scale their businesses effectively.
Highlights from the event included dynamic panel discussions, a live pitching competition, business grant presentations, an interactive raffle draw, and extensive networking opportunities. These sessions fostered a vibrant environment for learning, collaboration, and mutual support among attendees.
We are proud to recognize the eight grant recipients who stood out for their innovation and business acumen: Garricks Rachael, Luther Ikporo, Ruth Benjamin, Charity Ide, Beauty Ewoh, Charity Awewe, Veronica Lucky, and Lilian Owebe. The dedication of these entrepreneurs reflects the resilience and talent that FYD aims to promote within the entrepreneurial landscape.
We look forward to continued partnerships that will create lasting impacts for women and young people across the region.
